New Product Release: Suzhou Daiming Electrical Materials Launches Corona-Resistant Flat Enameled Wire for 800V High-Voltage Drive Motors
(Suzhou Wujiang, June 30, 2026) — Suzhou Daiming Electrical Materials Co., Ltd. has officially launched a corona-resistant composite insulated flat Enameled Wire designed for new energy vehicle high-voltage drive motors, engineered for 800V high-voltage platform electric drive systems. The product addresses key industry pain points including partial discharge under high-frequency pulse conditions, high-temperature aging, and insulation damage during forming. It has passed authoritative third-party testing and stator prototype bench tests, entering mass supply and sampling phases for high-end projects. Parallel R&D and verification are underway for PEEK/PI special insulated flat wires to meet demands of next-generation high-performance vehicles.
As new energy vehicles advance toward high-voltage fast charging, elevated power density and higher rotational speeds, steep-edge high-frequency pulse voltages from SiC inverters cause rapid degradation and breakdown of conventional enameled insulation. This imposes stringent requirements on winding wire heat resistance, partial discharge inception voltage (PDIV), consistent film thickness, and forming compatibility. Traditional round wires suffer from low slot fill rates and limited heat dissipation, restricting sustained high-load operation and becoming a bottleneck for electric drive performance gains.
The newly released corona-resistant flat enameled wire adopts a nano-modified PAI composite insulation system, achieving a thermal class of 200°C to 220°C, withstanding transient temperatures up to 240°C under critical operating conditions. Optimized nano-filler doping in the insulation layer significantly raises PDIV, mitigating high-frequency corona erosion and interlayer breakdown risks. Precision forming delivers regular flat profiles and micron-level uniform film thickness, boosting stator slot fill rates from 40%-50% with traditional round wires to 65%-75%. This shortens thermal conduction paths, reduces winding temperature rise and copper loss, and supports Hairpin winding architectures and high-speed rotor operation. Complementary developments include layered composite insulation and high-thermal-conductivity coating solutions, alongside Mini-Pin compact flat wire options that shrink end winding height to enable smaller, lighter motors. Production integrates continuous precision coating, closed-loop online dielectric and thickness inspection, and post-welding insulation reinforcement processes, preserving insulation integrity through bending, shaping, resistance and laser welding with stable, controllable production yields.
Aligned with green compliance and supply chain needs, the product features low-VOC insulation formulations complying with EU REACH and RoHS regulations. Carbon footprint accounting, raw material traceability and third-party test reports are available to meet access requirements for overseas automakers and Tier 1 suppliers, as well as CBAM carbon tariff rules. Flexible small-batch sampling and localized delivery support help customers shorten certification timelines and mitigate geopolitical trade risks.
Jia Chuanjiang, Technical Director at Suzhou Daiming Electrical Materials, stated: “We focused on mass-production-ready performance balancing electrical, thermal and mechanical forming capabilities to develop this core corona-resistant flat wire for 800V platforms while building a dedicated R&D team to trial PEEK/extruded PI special insulated flat wires for luxury performance models, special engineering vehicles, aerospace electric drives and other high-end scenarios. We are gradually overcoming cost and process yield bottlenecks to keep pace with global electric drive evolution. Multiple domestic independent brands and overseas Tier 1 partners have completed sampling with positive feedback, with several projects advancing toward mass production ramp-up.”
